User Reviews
I've used a number of protein powders before and this one is only average. It tastes OK, I have vanilla and it has the usual vanilla approximate flavor. It is on the sweet side. I have two issues with this powder.
1) It doesn't dissolve very easily. I put it into my mixing bottle with desired liquid and shake shake shake. A lot dissolves but there are plenty of chunks left. Enough so you have to chew, by the way it sticks to your teeth which is another bad thing.
2) The serving size is 24 grams of protein, great. But it takes two scoops to get you there. The other powders I've used require only one scoop. So combine that amount of powder in a 14oz or 16 oz mixing bottle and there's not much room for anything else.
Three stars for delivering what it claims. Two stars off for sweet, chewy, space hogging powder. -- Chunky and Sweet
I recently got back into lifting weights after a 10 year hiatus. I picked up two tubs (vanilla and strawberry, both taste excellent to me) for a protein source. I also wanted something with as few artificial ingredients as possible. Optimum nutrition natural whey delivered 110%. Tastes good, good for me, and very very strong gains after only a month of lifting and using this stuff. I outgrew this free weight set I bought, already. I wish I knew about it years ago. Amazing product, I will be buying more. -- Wish I knew about this before
This is easily the best whey product of the ones I've sampled, and doesn't have any weird aftertastes or unnatural additives. It actually mixes pretty well just with a fork or spoon, but be aware there will still be clumping at the top unless you use a blender (or possibly a shaker, I don't have one of those). It goes very very well in skim milk or almond milk - no need to do anything heavier like 2% or whole milk. It's okay in water but definitely better in a base with some kind of flavor. A scoop of this mixed via blender with a cup of skim milk, a tablespoon of canola oil, 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of psyllium powder for fiber, a dash of vanilla, and a few ice cubes makes a great shake - especially if you start adding stuff like part of a frozen banana, some kahlua and irish cream, or whatever.
I think it's been successful for me too. I've put on some muscle since I started having it in conjunction with my exercise, which I attribute to it helping my body's repair process. I'm definitely satisfied and I think I'll try the vanilla one next, since vanilla anything is usually my favorite flavor. :) -- Best whey I've tried
I was very dissapointed when I got this product after I read a lot of reviews saying this is a great product so i ordered it. When I received it I noticed that it would not mix at all and clumped. I tried with a spoon but it left lots of clumps so i put it in my shaker and it still had clumps. I finally had to put in a blender and that got almost all of the clumps out but it whipped the milk making it hard to drink. The taste is great but for protein if you can get it to mix. -- Very dissapointed
Decent delivery (order when 75% done with the one you have), GREAT price, awesome product, 3rd one I've gotten from Amazon. Chocolate one is TOO sweet for me. -- Very satisfied
